HOW ELECTION WORKS
Prospective Fellows are identified by existing members on the basis of professional standing, ethical reputation and legal contribution.
A nomination is proposed by an existing Fellow and considered by the Standing Committee on Membership.
The Membership Committee conducts due diligence on character, leadership, and demonstrated commitment to service.
Recommendations are put to the Council for final approval.
New Fellows are presented individually at the Annual Convocation and take the Fellow’s Declaration.
INDUCTION & CEREMONIAL PROTOCOL
Admission to the Chamber is marked by formal induction at the Annual Convocation, conducted with the gravity befitting a learned society. New Fellows are presented individually, take a Fellow’s Declaration affirming their commitment to the Chamber’s values of integrity, scholarship, service, independence, excellence and fellowship, and are formally invested with the insignia of their category of membership.
The Chamber maintains a Roll of Fellows recording, in order of induction, the name, category and date of admission of every member, together with a Register of Honorary and International Fellows. Ceremonial precedence, forms of address and the wearing of Chamber insignia at official functions are governed by a Ceremonial Protocol maintained by the Honorary Secretary.
Integrity. Scholarship. Service. Independence. Excellence. Fellowship. Affirmed by every Fellow upon induction, inscribed in the Roll of Fellows.
